Historical Background of Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions in the State of Punjab
The State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Punjab (PSCDRC) functions under the administrative and judicial leadership of the Hon'ble President, who is or has been a Judge of a High Court, appointed in accordance with the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The President is assisted by Hon'ble Members in the adjudication and disposal of consumer disputes.
The Commission's Registry is headed by the Registrar, who oversees the judicial registry, case management, and overall administrative functioning of the Commission. The Secretary assists the President in administrative, establishment, financial, and coordination matters.

The Commission is supported by a dedicated team of ministerial, administrative, and technical personnel who assist in judicial proceedings, case management, record maintenance, court administration, and public services. Together, they ensure the smooth, efficient, and transparent functioning of the Commission in accordance with the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
The State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Punjab functions from its headquarters at Sector 37-A, Chandigarh, while the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions function across the districts of Punjab, providing an accessible and effective consumer dispute redressal mechanism throughout the State.
